Background

​

Falmouth Art Gallery has an outstanding collection of over 2000 artworks that includes 19th and 20th century master painting, British Impressionist paintings, RCPS Tuke Collection, contemporary prints, photography and a children's illustration archive. They change exhibitions regularly and hang works from their permanent collection alongside major museum loans, work from local artists, community groups, school children and students. They also have an extensive events programme, catering for all ages, babies and upwards. They offer free workshops and events regularly throughout the year for babies and toddlers, families, community groups, special needs groups and higher education.

Roles and Responsibilities

 

My main roles include front of house visitor engagement, family learning workshop assistant and digital marketing.I welcome visitors and I am around to give them guidance and create a warm and happy atmosphere. In addition, the gallery is trying to increase their digital marketing, so as a volunteer I often promote upcoming exhibitions and events on my social media. I also recently took part in a Lantern Making Workshop for the upcoming Falmouth Christmas parade, where my main roles consisted of helping attendees to construct their lanterns and keeping the children entertained.
