Event Specific Skills
Market Research
This is an important skill to have when planning an event; to see if there's a market for it and if so finding out more about your audience and also about competitors and how they may effect your work. I have gathered data from the audience for a number of different events, through various platforms such as social media and SurveyMonkey.
Risk Assessment
Risk assessments are extremely important for evaluating potential risks and making sure that they are controlled. I have created or co-created many during my time at university, for both real and hypothetical events. If I were asked to make one in the future I would be confident in my ability to assess potential risks.
Event Planning
Throughout my time at university I have constructed many event plans, for both real and hypothetical events. My degree has given me the knowledge and skills needed to successfully plan and deliver an event. Not only do I have experience planning events, but in small teams with members of my course I have had the chance to bring some of these plans to life.
Crowd Control
Within my role as a steward whilst volunteering for events such as City of Lights Festival and Paws Your Stress, ensuring the safety of the public through crowd control was crucial. Risk assessments are useful for predicting how a crowd may act and having solutions for when they do. Being a confident person I have no trouble communicating with crowds.
