I spent the summer as a waitress here and although I had little experience in the hospitality sector prior to this job, I am a quick learner and settled into the role with ease. My main roles consisted of greeting and seating customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, answering questions about menu selections and making recommendations when requested and regularly checking on guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course, as well as serving food and clearing tables. Due to it being summer and a popular tourist destination, it was extremely busy and I worked well under pressure, always staying calm and doing the job to the best possible standard.

During my time at university I worked as a bartender here for 9 months. I have experience with interacting with customers and taking orders, making drinks, using the till and restocking and replenishing bar supplies. I had a comprehensive knowledge of the inventory on hand, drink mechanics, and drink pricing. I demonstrated the ability to keep the bar organised, stocked and clean. In addition, I am an excellent communicator who helps customers in selecting menu items, and takes and delivers orders quickly. I worked during ‘Fresher’s Week’ which is an extremely busy period, and showed that I can work well under pressure.
